The Ukrainian Security Service has confirmed the explosion of a Mi-8 helicopter at the Kramatorsk Airfield. Vladimir Krutov, head of the anti-terrorism center of the Service, said that the helicopter had been shot in the tank by a sniper, Lenta.ru reports.
He added that there was a risk of ammunition exploding in at the airfield.
An activist of the Kramatorsk illegal armed formations says that they shot the helicopter from a grenade launched. In his words, the military started shooting at his group after the explosion, RIA Novosti reports.
