Day of Defender of Fatherland parade held in Astana

A military parade for the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland has been held in Astana. Over 35 tanks, 40 mechanized infantry vehicles and over 110 armored vehicles were used for the parade. Kazakhstan Engineering modernizes military vehicles in the country, KazInform reports.

T-72-B tanks are the main armored unit of Azerbaijan. A company of such tanks was followed by auxiliary vehicles produced for the Kazakh military in 2012. One such vehicle has the same fire power as two mechanized infantry platoons.

They were followed by the new Solntsepek flame-throwing systems, Strela-10 missile systems capable of hitting targets at a distance of 5km at an altitude of up to 3.5km.

Over 2,500 soldiers, about 250 vehicles and 77 aircraft took part in the parade.
