North Ossetia marked the Day of the Ossetian Language and Literature yesterday. Celebrations started with laying of flowers to Kosta Khetagurov, founder of Ossetian literature, a poet, playwright and artist, Interfax reports.
Literature readings were organized at the Khetagurov Park. Members of the government and parliament, representatives of the public and pupils were reading Ossetian poems at the poet’s monument. North Ossetian Minister for Education and Science Alan Ogoyev awarded premiums to best teachers of philology, students and young scientists.
Concerts and literature readings took place in all districts of the republic.
