The Rabbi of Russia, Berel Lazar said that the new Jewish center has to be built in Crimea, where Jewish life today resembles the Soviet era when every religious activity was driven underground.
Lazar believes that it is necessary to establish comfortable conditions of life in the Jewish community in order to make people understand what it means to be part of the Jewish community.
Lazar said that there is no synagogue in Crimea which is a great obstacle in forming a Jewish community on the peninsula.
