The Georgian Ministry for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources said that the landslide at the Darial Gorge was solely a nature-caused disaster. The ministry reminded that similar disasters had happened in the country in 2003 and 2007, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 5 million cubic meters of rock and ice crashed on the Georgian Military Road and nearby communications. There were three streams. The left stream moved the Devdorak Glacier. Heavy rain made the mass more mobile.
