The verdict in the Rasul and Halimat Rusulov case is going to be announced by the Moscow City Court on May 30. The prosecution demands that the husband be sentenced to 18 and the wife to 13 years in prison for the attempted murder of police officer Anton Kudryashov.
The couple attacked the policeman in July 2013, when he tried to detain their relative, Magomed Magomedov, who was accused of raping an underaged girl.
The couple plead not guilty.
