The head of the Russian Federal Migration Service, Constantine Romodanovsky, said at the governmental hour today that there were about 3.7 million illegal migrants in Russia, Rosbalt reports.
There are about 11 million foreigners in Russia, most of whom are labour migrants. 40% of illegal migrants are aged 17-29 with poor knowledge of the Russian language.
The number of foreigners grew by 40% in 2010-2013. Romodanovsky noted that 75% of foreigners in Russia originated from CIS countries.
