Yesterday US President Barack Obama sent Ilham Aliyev a letter congratulating Azerbaijan on Day of the Republic. The holiday is marked on May 28th.
“We join the Azerbaijani people, who mark the significant holiday of the declaration of independence of the first secular and democratic state in the Muslim world on May 28th, 1918, - the Azerbaijani Republic,” Trend cites the letter from the US President.
Obama also emphasized in his letter that there is strong cooperation in the sphere of security between the two countries.
