Clashes between demonstrators and the police took place in three districts of Istanbul. Seven policemen and two local residents were hurt, as a home-made bomb exploded.
Yesterday riots started in city districts of Okmeydani, Sultangazi, and Sancaktepe. About 200-250 demonstrators came to the streets, protesting against the death of Ugur Kurt who was shot on May 22nd during street clashes with the police.
Demonstrators threw stones and firebombs at policemen. ITAR-TASS cites CNN Turk that some of them carried a hand-made bomb which exploded near a group of policemen.
