A event devoted to Azerbaijani Republic Day has recently been held in the Israeli city of Netanya. The event has been organized by the international association Israel-Azerbaijan (AZIZ).
"We gathered together to celebrate Azerbaijani Republic Day. The Republic of Azerbaijan was established 96 years ago, 18 May 1918. It was the first democratic republic in the Islamic World," the head of the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre, Yegyana Salman said.
The Baku-Moscow duet of Rafid Aloni and Sofi Lieberman performed a concert. The audience especially liked the song "Days Without You."
"It is very important for us to mark this day. Such events help our countries to enhance mutual ties. This is our main aim," the head of AZIZ, Lev Spivak said.
