The rainfall in Baku, Azerbaijan, has exceeded the monthly norm twice,
Trend reports, citing Umayr Tagiyev, head of the hydro-meteorological
forecasts at the Azerbaijani National Meteorological Department of the
Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The heaviest rainfall was registered in the Lyankyaran-Astarin region
and the Greater Caucasus, reaching 48-64% of the monthly norm. The
Absheron Peninsula registered twice the usual amount of rain.
The rains started on September 11th in many territories, including
Baku. Tagiyeva said that the weather will not change until September
13th.
Heavy rains created obstacles for transport, the main administration
of the state road police in Baku said.
