Forbidden film on Chechnya to be screened at MIFF

“An Order to Forget”, a fictional film by director Husein Erkenov, will be screened at the 36th Moscow International Film Festival. The movie is included in the “Special Showing” category.

The film tells about tragic events in Chechen history, when many Chechens and Ingush hid in mountains during Stalin’s deportations of the North Caucasus peoples.

Previously the movie was forbidden from being screened by the Ministry of Culture, as it could provoke inter-ethnic hatred.
