The chairman of the national space agency of Kazakhstan, Talgat Musabayev, has declared that the launch complex for Zenit rockets at Baikonur will become the property of Kazakhstan in January 2015.In December of the current year, according to him, it is planned to finish practical training of 49 employees of the Kazakhstan organization in features of operation of systems and Zenit complex units that is necessary for providing their appropriate reception and operation when exiting the lease.Musabayev noted that it is planned to implement the "Bayterek" project on the basis of the Zenit carrier rocket.Replacement of the Proton rocket, using highly toxic components of fuel, with ecologically-safe carriers is the main purpose of the project, which was approved by heads of Kazakhstan and Russia at the end of 2012.Kazakhstan's Baikonur space complex is leased to the Russian Federation until 2050.
