The police have identified the militant killed in Derbent (Dagestan) today as Malik Ulubekov, 25, an active member of the Sogratl Gang, RIA Dagestan reports.
Ulubekov’s civil-law wife and her mother had been evacuated from the building before the operation to neutralize the militant started. Residents were evacuated as well. The militant refused to surrender.
Ulubekov is suspected of attacking police officers on the outskirts of Sogratl this year. Three officers were killed and ten injured in the attack. Ulubekov is also suspected of taking part in the murder of two officers of the Interior Forces of the Russian Interior Ministry.
