An armed man opened fire at police officers in Echeda (Tsumadinsky District, Dagestan) when they tried to detain him at 6.00am, ITAR-TASS reports.
He was killed by counter-fire. No officer was inujured. The police are searching for another armed man presumably hiding at a mosque.
