Two militants killed in Echeda (Tsumadinsky District, Dagestan) have been identified as Merza Abdulkerimov, the leader of the Tsumadinskaya Gang, and Magomed Khuchbarov, his right-hand man, Interfax reports.
The militants refused to give up and opened fire on the police. They were killed.
The two men joined the militant grouping in 2011. They were responsible for attacks on civilians, police officers and soldiers. Khuchbarov and Abdulkerimov opened fire on OMON officers in the Tsumadinsky District in April 2011, killing the head of a border post in May 2011 and a school principal in August 2013.
