Emil Akhundov, a notable Azerbaijani constructor and ex-head of Glavbakstroy, died in Turkey last night, Milli.az reports.Akhundov has been in coma the last several months. He was diagnosed with vasculitis.The constructor is famous for building the Opera and Ballet Theater, Moskva Hotel, Gulistan Reception House, Akhmedly Village and the 8th Kilometer. He took part in rectification of the Chernobyl accident and construction of Slavutich for people evacuated from the area. In 1988, Akhundov became the head of the Azerbaijani construction group working to clear damaged caused by an earthquake in Armenia.
