The construction of a mosque in the capital of the Komi Republic, Syktyvkar, will be launched in 2011. This project was authorized by the local authorities, who granted 3,500 square meters of land to the Syktyvkar Muslim community “Nur” (’Light’), 1news.az reports.
The project brought together all the Muslims of the republic, as wellas attracting donations from all Turkic nations, including Azerbaijan.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 10 million rubles. It is also planned for a Madrassa school to be organized within the mosque.
