Body found at Verkhny Lars Checkpoint

 

The body of one of the workers hit by a mudslide in the Darial Gorge was found in Terek near the Verkhny Lars Checkpoint. Givi Kirikashvili, the head of the Kazbeg Municipality, said that bodies of a Turk and a Georgian who had been in the tunnel during the mudslide remained missing.The mudslide, similar to the one on May 17, happened in the Darial Gorge on August 21. It blocked the Georgian Military Road and broke the North Caucasus – Trans-Caucasus pipeline supplying Armenia with gas.
