12 regions are starting realization of the “Ready for labour and defense” program. Gold, silver and bronze awards will be given for enthusiasts of the program. 11 age groups of people aged 6-70 will have taken part in the physical fitness program by 2017.
Older pupils will write graduation essays in December and February. Essays will not be rated according to the 5-point system, they will either be passed or not-passed. Education Minister Dmitry Livanov said that implementation of the new system will be smooth.
The Unified State Exam for the Russian language has lost section A, where pupils needed to choose one of the correct answers. The mathematics exam was split into basic and specialized levels. A speech section was added to the English language exam.
