Long queue of cars forms at Verkhny Lars border crossing

A long queue of cars has formed at the Verkhny Lars / Kabegi border crossing, despite the Georgian Military Road having been cleared of a mudslide in the Darial Gorge. Crossing the customs area takes just a few minutes but drivers have been standing in the neutral zone for over 6 hours.

One of the Vladikavkaz locals said that North Ossetia was taking additional security measures over the 10th anniversary of the Beslan school tragedy, inspecting cars more scrupulously.
