Russia is marking Anti-Terrorism Solidarity Day. Commemorations will start at places hit by terrorist attacks at 3.00pm. The Anti-Terrorism Solidarity Day is associated with the tragedy of Beslan School N1 where 1128 children and adults were taken hostage on September 1. 332-335 people, including 186 children, were killed at the school on September 3.
233 people died in apartment blasts in Moscow in September 1999. 13 people died and over 130 were injured in a blast in a subway at Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow on August 8, 2000. 129 people died at the Theater Center on Dubrovka on October 23-26, 2002. Two suicide bombers killed 16 and injured 59 people near a booking office selling tickets for the Krylya rock festival in Moscow’s Tushino on July 5, 2003. 91 people died and over 300 were injured in blasts between the Avtozavodskaya and Peveletskaya metro stations, near Rizhskaya station, at Lubyanka and Park Kultury. Commemorations will be concluded with a minute of silence.
The Candles of Beslan commemoration will take place on the square of the Otradnoye District. The We Remember Beslan program will be performed on the street and a Marathon dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Beslan tragedy.
All education centers of the Kizlyarsky District of Dagestan will have special lectures about terrorism, youth, solidarity, commemorations, sports on September 2-5.
