The committee on local government of the parliament of Dagestan approved and submitted a bill for consideration of the session of the legislative assembly on September 10, according to which the heads of municipalities of the republic are proposed to be elected by the representative body of the municipality from within the structure.The bill "On the Order of Formation of Representative Bodies and Elections of Heads of Municipalities of the Dagestani Republic" was discussed the day before by the People's Assembly.According to the chairman of the committee on local government, Bagadur Abasov, the bill has been developed to reduce the republic's legislation in compliance with changes made to federal laws.
