Karachay-Cherkessia has opened the Latokova Boarding School for grade-5 cadets. 23 people joined the grade after Russian language and math tests. Karachay-Cherkessia Leader Rashid Temrezov said that the cadet class was an experiment and, if successful, more classes would be formed.
The goal of the cadet class is to teach civic consciousness, patriotism and form the basis for military service.
Three cadet classes were formed in Stavropol Territory in 2013 under the patronage of the Russian Investigative Committee. Head of the Committee Alexander Bastrykin attended the ceremony of their formation. The first cadet class in the region was formed in 2012 and showed good results.
