Azerbaijan is marking Knowledge Day today. Over 138,000 children will start their school studies. 1692 young teachers will give their first lessons. Education Minister Mikail Jabbarov ordered the first day of the academic year to start with a lesson of patriotism, Trend reports.
Sabah groups of 738 gifted students will start studies at universities. They include over 200 winners of gold and silver medals.
Azerbaijan released 271 different textbooks with a total of 7.8 million copies, a record for the republic. By September 15, 122 schools have been built or reconstructed, 52 have undergone major renovation.
