Georgian schools become free for foreigners

The Georgian Constitutional Court has made school studies free for foreigners in Georgia. Up to 400 foreign pupils will not need to pay for this academic year, Trend reports.

The initiative to lift payments for school classes for foreigners came from the Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia, representing the interests of six foreign pupils. The NGO said that imposing payments for school classes on foreigners was a violation of article 14 of the Georgian Constitution guaranteeing equality.
