A bill establishing a new memorial day in Russia "On October 7 - Day of Polite People of the Russian Federation", is being proposed in the State Duma. The author of the initiative is the deputy of the A Fair Russia faction, the leader of the Russian Party of Pensioners for Justice, Igor Zotov.In an explanatory note the parliamentarian declares that this idea arose after numerous messages of citizens with gratitude in an address to "polite people", which played a key role in the historic events of the Crimean spring of 2014.
