Armenia has started celebrations for the 19th anniversary of
Independence Day, News Armenia reports.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan laid flowers at the 'Yerablur'
memorial in Yerevan. He was assisted by the Chairman of the National
Assembly Ovik Abramyan, Secretary of the National Security Council
Artur Bagdasaryan, Defense Minister Seyran Oganyan, Prosecutor General
Agvan Ovsepyan, head of the president's office Karen Karapetyan and
other high ranking officials.
The president also honoured cultural and scientific figures.
The holiday is also being celebrated at Shanghai Expo 2010. The
Armenian state delegation headed by Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan
is at the ceremony.
