Hurricane threatens North Caucasus For several days southern Russia has been suffering raging elements. In the Kuban region 185 thousand people were left without electricity, in the Rostov region winds uprooted trees and destroyed stalls, and in the Volgograd region a ship sank because of the waves. The hurricane is moving inland, the emergency services warn. Winds in the Stavropol region are up to 30 m/s. It has already knocked down dozens of trees, damaged roofs, bent billboards. In the next day the hurricane will reach Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya and North Ossetia, according to forecasts, the wind will be less strong - about 25 m / s. It will be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail that could cause rises in water levels in rivers.
