Ex-assistant prosecutor of Khasavyurt gets 11 years of jail

The North Caucasus District Military Court has declared Magomed Abdulgalimov, an accomplice of Makhachkala ex-Mayor Sayid Amirov and an ex-assistant prosecutor of Khasavyurt, guilty of creating an armed formation in January 2010 and the murder of investigator Arsen Gajibekov, the head of the office of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Sovetsky District of Makhachkala. Abdulgalimov will serve 11 years in jail, ITAR-TASS reports.

The armed formation of Abdulgalimov turned into a criminal group. It used a Shmel machine-gun to attack the Moskva Cultural and Recreational Complex in Kaspiysk on April 2, 2011.

Amirov and Kaspiysk ex-Deputy Head Yusup Japarov are on trial for terrorism.
