The opening of the Gimri Tunnel connecting nine highland districts of Dagestan with the center of the republic, planned for today, has been postponed until October 5 due to a counter-terrorism operation in the Buynaksky and the Untsukulsky districts. Law enforcers keep finding large stockpiles of weapons, ammunition, explosives and militant bunkers almost every day, ITAR-TASS reports.
The opening of the tunnel was initially planned on September 18, then postponed to September 23.
