Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyov will send 1,400 rams (worth 3,000-5,000 rubles each) to the Astrakhan Oblast for sacrifice at Eid al-Adha, said Astrakhan Assistant Mufti, Fagili Asanova, TASS reports.
Meat will be given to about 450 Ukrainian refugees.
26% of the population of Astrakhan Oblast are Muslims. The region has 54 mosques and about 18 congregations.
