He was the commander of a link of the 593rd assault aviation regiment on the first Baltic and the second Belarusian fronts in WWII. He participated in fighting for the liberation of Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia. He made 113 fighting flights, shot down 2 enemy planes and destroyed a large amount of military equipment of the opponent.
