The Russian Education Ministry plans to adopt a concept for Russian language and literature textbooks for children of migrants studying from grade 1 to grade 6, Izvestia reports.
The books will be made taking into account national cultures and linguistic peculiarities. They will be tested in 17 regions of Russia. The project will cost 5-7 million rubles. The books will focus on children from CIS countries.
Such textbooks existed previously, but they gradually disappeared due to low financing. According to the FMS, about a million foreigners aged under 17 lived in Russia as of September 3, TASS reports.
