Organizers of Khuchni blast on trial in Dagestan

Rustam Alimirzayev, Sirazhula Ramazanov and Tazhutdin Gajiyev are on trial in Dagestan, suspected of involvement in the explosion of a 50-kg bomb in Khuchni (Tabasaransky District), resulting in two people dead and 17 injured, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The three allegedly joined the gang of Gasan Abddullayev in early 2011. They planted the bomb at a sports complex in Khuchni where local police officers were planning to train. The drills were cancelled but the bomb still exploded.

Azim Mukailov, 25, a resident of Kushtil (Khivsky District), planted a bomb underneath a car and drove it to a local police station, activating the device. One officer of the migration service and one police officer died, 17 people, including 14 police officers, were injured. 16 cars parked nearby were damaged.

According to a theory, the blast was organized by Sherif Ahmedov, a militant killed in Derbent.
