A drunk police major from Ingushetia fired 20 shots from a Stechkin pistol near a cafe in Mozdok at about 2.00am on Sunday. The officer was in his colleague's car when he was shooting. They were stopped 15 minutes later. The officer may be fined 40,000-50,000 rubles, his weapons and ammunition may be confiscated or he may be deprived of a gun license for 1.5 to 3 years, Interfax reports.
A service investigation was initiated. The officer may be fired, his authorities may be penalized.
