Iran helps UN fight terrorism

Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, told UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura in Tehran yesterday that Iran was ready to cooperate with the UN in fighting ISIS together, Trend reports.Iran recognizes the UN as the only organization that has the right to fight ISIS. Shamkhani stated that the main obstacle on the path towards peace and security was that Western states had previously armed the Syrian opposition. He added that all countries should contribute to enforcement of stability in the region.
