The Council of Communities and the Faculty of International Relations and Management of International Contacts of the Belarusian State University marked the Independence Day of Turkmenistan for the first time. Members of the Turkmen embassy in Belarus, Turkmen students, teachers and staff of the Belarusian State University took part in the event aimed at popularizing culture, politics and science. Presentations of history and modern development of Turkmenistan were organized.
A concert of folk songs and dances and a presentation of national Turkmen cuisine concluded the celebrations.
About 3,000 foreign students, 800 of them from Turkmenistan, study at the Belarusian State University.
