The Georgian Foreign Ministry recommended citizens to refrain from visiting South Sudan, Georgia, Libya, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Yemen to threats of terrorism and kidnappings. The ministry later clarified that the recommendations to avoid Georgia only concerned the occupied territories (Abkhazia and South Ossetia).The two regions are not under control of the Georgian government and have Russian troops stationed there. Georgian media, according to the German ministry, say that the situation in the conflict regions may change at any moment.
