Spokeswoman of the U.S. State Department Jen Psaki said that diplomats have been actively cooperating with the Turkish authorities after a group of Turkish nationalists attacked three U.S. soldiers in Istanbul the previous day, RIA Novosti reports.
She stated that Turkey remained an important partner and ally of NATO. The spokeswoman added that the USS Ross’ stop in Istanbul was a sign of the special friendship and cooperation between Turkey and the U.S.
