26 tons of drugs confiscated on Iranian-Afghan border

26 tons of drugs have been confiscated from 1852 couriers in Sistan and Baluchestan Province since March 2014. 33 drug gangs involved in the drug trade were uncovered. 2 tons of drugs were confiscated in Iranshahr, Saravan and Zabol, according to Brigadier-General Hossein Rahimi heading police operations in the area, TASS reports.

Iran has spent over $700 million on enforcement of infrastructure on the Afghan border where the main drug flow comes from.
