A grenade exploded at a fashion and design college in the Almaly District of Almaty during basic military training classes today. A student died, 8 people, including the teacher, were hospitalized. 60 students of the college were evacuated, RIA Novodsti reports.
A criminal case was initiated on acquisition and possession of weapons, ammo and explosives (up to 5 years of jail) and another one on death and injury (up to 3 years of jail).
Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov ordered executives to find and punish the people responsible for the accident.
