Children who were hospitalized because of intestinal infection from a kindergarten in the town of Yeghvard in the Kotayk region of Armenia were given sausages produced by the limited-liability company "Mush" on the eve of the incident, although sausages are banned in the elementary schools of the country. This was reported by the press service of the State Service for Food Safety of Armenia.
The inspection that was held in the kindergarten was organized by the inspectors of the regional center of the Service for Food Safety in Armenia. The "Mush" company also underwent an inspection.
"The inspections revealed that the suppliers of products to the Yeghvard kindergarten delivered the same products to other kindergartens, including those located in Yerevan, but there were no other cases of poisoning," the press service is quoted by RIA Novosti.
Children from Yeghvard were hospitalized on November 28 with a diagnosis of "dysentery". The poisoning affected 108 children altogether.
