Since the beginning of this year more than 500 women from Krasnodar Territory have applied to centers of selection of citizens for military service on contract and expressed the desire to serve in formations and units stationed on the territory of the Southern Military District (SMD), the press service of the district informs.
In comparison, in 2012 the Krasnodar center of selection registered only three applications, and in 2013 - more than 70. It should also be noted that this year the level of education among women candidates applying to sign the contract with the Russian Defense was three times higher, news agency "Res" reports.
For candidates there is a choice of military posts as privates and non-commissioned officers from more than 60 formations and units of the combined armies of the SMD, the Black Sea Fleet (BSF), the Caspian Flotilla (CFLs) and the 4th Air Force Command and Air Defense.
The high interest in military service is caused by the growing prestige of the Armed Forces, increases in salaries, social security, educational opportunities with benefits, as well as providing permanent housing based on a program of savings mortgage lending, the press service says.
