A memorial to victims of terrorism by the famous sculpor Mikhail
Shemyakin has been unveiled in Vladikavkaz. The composition is of a
boy and girl with expressions of fear on their faces trying to stop
menacing monsters. 'My aim has been to make people philosophize
meditating on the composition itself. There is no
solemnity or heroism. To put it simply, this is a reflection of the
naked truth' - Shemyakin said, reports INTERFAX.
According the sculptor, the terrorist attacks in Madrid, London, New
York and Beslan have been the impulse for the creation of this
memorial. Alexander Khloponin, the plenipotentiary representative of
the president to the federal district of the North Caucasus, the head
of North Ossetia, Teymuraz Mamsurov, and members of the 'Beslan
Mothers' committee took part in the ceremony unveiling the memorial.
