5.2 quake shakes southwestern Iran

 

A relatively strong quake has hit the city of Behbahan in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan.According to Iranian news agencies, the quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted the area at 00:15 local time on Saturday (20:45 GMT Friday) with shaking felt even in Mahshahr port on the Persian Gulf coast. The epicenter of the quake was at 30.51 degrees north latitude and 50.45 degrees east longitude near the city of Gachsaran in neighboring Kohgiluyeh-and-Boyer-Ahmad Province.
