Azerbaijan accuses Armenia of using family for propaganda

 

The Gevorkyan family (husband, wife and three children) from Armenia moved to Azerbaijan to use it as a platform to move to another country. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry claims that the family ran from tyranny, cruelty and extreme poverty on January 10, 2010. The ministry said that no other country had provided asylum for the family due to crime records of Yegish Gevorkyan, the head of the family, according to acting spokesman of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Khikmet Gajiyev, Trend reports.The family was given shelter and food, it was visited by the IRCC. Armenia confirmed that the family was in good health after being deported to Armenia at Bala Jafarli (Qazakh District) on December 12.Gajiyev said that the family had been under physical and psychological pressure, humiliation from the Armenian intelligence after returning. He added that other citizens sent back to Armenia were tortured in jails of the intelligence service.Gajiyev urged the international society to pay attention to fates of over 4,000 Azerbaijanis gone missing throughout the conflict with Armenia.
