Unemployment in Chechnya has dropped by 4.5% this year, according to Khozh-Baudi Abdrakhmanov, deputy head of the Employment Department of the Chechen Labour Ministry, the Chechen government reports.
Reduction of unemployment in Chechnya is the highest in Russia. As of December 1, about 100,000 people were registered at employment centers, 28,495 less than in early 2014. Unemployment has dropped from 19.9% to 15.4% throughout the year. The ministerial official explained that the dropping unemployment rate was a result of legalization of labour and opening of new workplaces, development of industry, agriculture, small and medium-scale business. Tens of thousands of new workplaces open every year.
