Berel Lazar opens a synagogue in Moscow pre-trial detention center

In pre-trial detention center number 4 in the north of Moscow Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar has opened a synagogue.


In the new house of prayer the rabbi lit a khanukiyah in honor of the holiday of Hanukkah, which continues to be celebrated in these days, and gave gifts to the person under investigation.

 

Nine synagogues operate in Russian penitentiary institutions, as well as 529 Orthodox churches, 51 mosques, nine Buddhist temples, three churches of the Roman Catholic Church and one prayer house of Evangelical Christians-Baptists.
