The German Foundation "World Population" conducted a study which found that this year's increase in the world population was about 80 million people.
Thus, by the beginning of next year, the total number of people on Earth will be almost 7.3 billion people.
"Every second the world's population increases by an average of 2.6 people," Interfax quoted experts of the fund.
In accordance with the results of the study, one of the main reasons for this increase in population is the lack of effective methods of contraception in developing countries.
Experts predict that by 2050 the proportion of Europeans and Asians of the total population of the Earth will be significantly reduced, and the number of Africans will increase by 15-25% compared to 2014.
